Near the end of the nineteenth century, Allen Walker joins an organization of Exorcists fighting the Akuma, mechanical weapons created by the Millennium Earl from the suffering souls of the dead. Allen is uniquely equipped for the struggle: he possesses a cursed eye and an anti-Akuma weapon built into his arm.

That weapon carries Innocence, a power connected to his role as an apostle of God. Alongside fellow Exorcists such as Yuu Kanda, Lenalee Lee, and Lavi, Allen battles the Earl's creations while trying to stop a larger plan that threatens the entire world. Their conflict places supernatural power, grief, and human souls at the center of a growing war.
