Ergo Proxy

The domed city of Romdo appears orderly, but a string of murders and a virus affecting AutoReivs—cyborg companions and workers—suggest something is deeply wrong. Detective Re-l Mayer investigates the growing disturbances, only to encounter mysteries that undermine everything she understands about her home. An immigrant named Vincent Law disappears, and a frightening creature begins repeatedly drawing Re-l back toward him. Their paths eventually extend beyond Romdo and across a scarred, largely deserted Earth as they search for answers about the creature, Vincent, and a mysterious “awakening.”
