Akiyuki Shinbou is a Japanese director, producer, animator, and storyboard artist. He made his directorial debut with Metal Fighter Miku in 1994 and joined Shaft in 2004. His later work includes directing Bakemonogatari, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and March comes in like a lion, as well as serving as chief director on Nisekoi. His work on Puella Magi Madoka Magica earned major directing awards.
