Blue Spring Ride

Futaba Yoshioka enters high school determined to reinvent herself. In junior high, her appearance caused jealousy among other girls, while a misunderstanding prevented her from expressing her feelings to the only boy she had ever liked. Hoping to avoid being excluded again, Futaba deliberately behaves in an unladylike way so her new friends will not see her as a rival.

Her carefully constructed new identity is shaken when she unexpectedly meets that boy again. The former Tanaka-kun now calls himself Kou Mabuchi, and he admits that he once shared Futaba's feelings. At the same time, he insists that the past cannot simply be restored. Their reunion forces Futaba to confront both the romance that never properly began and the version of herself she created to fit in.
