Mitsuo Iso is a director and animator known for realist animation and early digital-processing techniques. His animation work includes Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket, Ghost in the Shell, The End of Evangelion, and Blood: The Last Vampire. He later created and directed Den-noh Coil and The Orbital Children, and announced his retirement from animation in 2018 to focus exclusively on directing.
