Senzaemon Nakiri
薙切仙左衛門Biography
Senzaemon Nakiri is Tōtsuki Academy's headmaster and Erina's grandfather. Nicknamed the “Gastric Godfather,” he is known for stripping off his upper clothing when impressed by a dish, yet his food judgments are described as reasonable, accurate and not needlessly harsh toward those who lose.
Story spoilers
Years earlier, Senzaemon helped free Jōichirō Saiba from the academy's pressures so he could travel and learn independently, later employing him as a private chef. He also exiled his son-in-law Azami for abusing Erina, became Erina's legal guardian, and was eventually replaced as headmaster when a majority of the Elite Ten backed Azami. Senzaemon continued working behind the scenes with Jōichirō against Azami.
