Nia Teppelin is a mysterious young girl whom Simon finds sleeping inside a capsule at a dump site. Sheltered from the outside world's conflicts, she is curious, pure, and innocent, and Team Dai-Gurren soon accepts her despite some initial uncertainty.
Story spoilers
Nia is the daughter of the Spiral King, who discarded her after she began developing a will of her own. She grows close to Simon and becomes his fiancée, later joining Team Dai-Gurren and helping confront her father. Seven years after Teppelin falls, the Anti-Spiral turns her into a digital messenger. After returning to Earth, Nia and Simon marry, but she fades away shortly after the ceremony.
