Kotarou Urashima is an 18-year-old student who is shy and struggles to fit in with other people. He has low self-esteem and regards solving Rubik's cubes as perhaps his only strong point, which leaves him doubting whether Himemiko's affection for him is genuine.

After the two face obstacles in their relationship, Kotarou accepts that Himemiko truly loves him and recognizes his own love for her.
