Biography
Izaya Orihara is an information broker who sells information largely for his own amusement. He claims to love humanity while deliberately placing people in miserable situations to observe how they react, with Shizuo Heiwajima as his declared exception. An agile parkour expert and skilled flickblade user, Izaya is also fluent in Russian. He attended Raira Academy with Shizuo, Shinra, and Kadota and has twin younger sisters, Mairu and Kururi.
Story spoilers
Izaya belongs to the anonymous online group the Dollars and uses the chatroom identity “Kanra,” usually presenting himself as female online. In the novels, he treats Shinra as his only true friend and later places himself in protective custody over an attack on Shinra that was actually attributed to Nakura.
