Isao Kondou

Isao Kondo is the commander of the Shinsengumi, an honest and good-natured leader whose subordinates are fiercely loyal to him. He is close friends with Toshiro Hijikata and Sougo Okita, though his trusting nature can leave him blind to other people's faults. Away from duty, his persistent pursuit of Tae Shimura earns him the nickname “Gorilla-stalker.”
