Biography
Alexandrite is a hardness-8.5 gem and an expert researcher on the Lunarians. They are studious and intensely passionate about the subject.
Story spoilers
They are nevertheless forbidden from looking directly at Lunarians because doing so can trigger a transformation into "Red Alex," a berserk state in which they indiscriminately cut down anything nearby until passing out. Alexandrite began their research both to overcome this condition and to preserve their hatred of the Lunarians after their former partner Chrysoberyl was taken. Alexandrite later accompanies Phos to the moon.
