Neon Genesis Evangelion

In 2015, enormous beings known as Angels appear in Tokyo, placing humanity under a renewed threat. NERV, a special United Nations agency, has developed humanoid fighting machines called Evangelions that can withstand the Angels, but only a small number of teenagers are capable of piloting them. Shinji Ikari is one of those teenagers. His father leads the NERV team responsible for developing and maintaining the Evangelions, and Shinji is abruptly pushed into a conflict he barely understands. Forced to confront both the physical danger of battle and the strain it places on him, he must find the courage to fight when failure could cost far more than his own survival.
