Yasuji Murata was an animator who began as a movie-theater signboard artist before joining Yokohama Cinema Shokai, where he created numerous animation titles and advanced paper cutout animation. His directing credits include Taro's Train, Momotaro in the Sky, Momotaro under the Sea, The Blossom Man and Doubutsu Olympic Taikai.
