Takashi Nakamura is an animator, director, and designer who began at Tatsunoko Pro before going freelance. His detailed, fluid animation style became influential in the early 1980s, and his directorial debut came with the Robot Carnival short Chicken Man & Red Head. His work includes character design for Akira, directing Harmony, and creating and directing Fantastic Children and A Tree of Palme.
