The Sleeping Knights are terminally ill players who use the MediCuboid FullDive system. Yuuki has AIDS after receiving a bad blood transfer as a child and later lives in the hospital for three years using MediCuboid. Her extensive VR experience can make her a match for Kirito when he is not dual wielding. She becomes friends with Asuna, who reminds Yuuki of her elder twin sister who died a year before they met.
