西宮八重子Biography
Yaeko Nishimiya is the mother of Shouko and Yuzuru. After her husband's family sought a divorce, she raised her daughters with substantial help from her own mother.
Story spoilers
Leaving childcare permanently to her mother strains her relationship with Yuzuru, and she remains deeply hostile toward Shouya because of his treatment of Shouko. After her mother's death, however, she begins to soften toward Ishida and thanks him for being Yuzuru's friend.
