Wakaba Shinohara
篠原若葉Biography
Wakaba Shinohara is Utena's cheerful best friend, though beneath that energy she carries a deep sense of inferiority and attaches herself to people who make her feel important. Early on, Saionji publicly humiliates her by posting a private love letter she wrote to him, prompting Utena to duel him.
Story spoilers
During the Black Rose Saga, Wakaba is revealed to be secretly sheltering the expelled Saionji. Feeling betrayed when his obsession with Anthy draws him away again, she turns to Mikage and becomes a duelist using Saionji's katana. The film gives her a different path, including a transformation into a Jeep-like car near the end.
