Touta Matsuda

Touta Matsuda is a member of the investigation team in Death Note. Enthusiastic, outspoken, impulsive, and inexperienced compared with his colleagues, he is sometimes treated as the group's weak link, but his willingness to take dangerous risks can make him unexpectedly valuable to the investigation.

Matsuda is less absolute than many teammates in his judgment of Kira, at times wondering whether Kira's actions might be viewed as beneficial by the public. Despite that sympathy toward some of Kira's supporters, his loyalty remains with the Task Force and the effort to solve the Kira case. He has particular respect for Soichiro Yagami, whom he regards as a mentor.
