Biography

Tooru Taki is a student at Natsume's school, introduced as shy and quiet but generally happy, extroverted, and optimistic. She wants to help Natsume whenever possible and knows how to draw a complicated youkai circle discovered by her grandfather, allowing humans to see any youkai that steps within it even though Taki herself has too little spiritual energy to see them normally.

Story spoilers

Her initial silence comes from a curse: a youkai threatens to eat the last thirteen people whose names she says within a year and forces her into a deadly gamble that it refuses to honor even after she wins.
