Biography
Tomoko Kuroki is a socially awkward 15-year-old student at Makuhari Shuuei High School who desperately wants to become popular. She begins high school expecting her extensive experience with romance games to translate into real social success, only to go two months without speaking to anyone in her class. Tomoko tries to improve herself through daily conversations with her reluctant brother Tomoki and spends time with her grade-school friend Yuu, whose favorable social status she envies. Her attempts to appear cool or confident frequently backfire, especially when panic makes her speak without a filter.
Story spoilers
Tomoko gradually becomes more capable of interacting with classmates. During her second year she develops a wider circle that includes Hina Nemoto, Masaki Yoshida, Yuri Tamura, and others, while the popular Asuka Kato also treats her kindly. By her third year, she has even gained an underclasswoman companion and, without realizing it, the attention of a girl who has developed some kind of crush on her.
