Tetsuhiro Shigemura

Tetsuhiro Shigemura is a professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Toto Institute of Technology and founder of the Shigemura Laboratory. Students associated with his lab include Kayaba Akihiko, Sugou Nobuyuki, and Higa Takeru, and he was also an external board member at Argus.
Story spoilers
After his daughter Yuuna dies in Sword Art Online, Tetsuhiro develops the Augma, Ordinal Scale, and YUNA at Kamura as part of an attempt to recreate her as an AI from survivors' memories. The plan culminates in a proposed high-output brain scan during YUNA's concert, but the AI reproduction of Yuuna stops it to protect the players. Tetsuhiro later resigns from Kamura, gives up his rights to YUNA, and is introduced to Project Alicization at Rath.
