Character profile
Takagi Yoshiyuki
Biography
Takagi Yoshiyuki begins as Matsushita's mentor before emerging as the central anti-hero of the series. He succeeds Morigami Shingo as Karate Club captain and inherits the title "Soul of Osaka III," placing Osaka's youth gangs under his authority. Despite exaggerated macho posturing and a goofy sense of humor, Takagi follows a personal code of honor and readily defends Matsushita.
Story spoilers
Repeated challenges for his title eventually wear him down enough that he leaves Osaka for a new life in Tokyo, only to become caught in Tokyo's gang conflicts and return to Osaka. He also suspects that Jinrai Isao, the original Soul of Osaka, may be his brother.
