Sumire Uemoto is the 17-year-old daughter of a Chinese restaurant owner. She wants to inherit the family ramen shop, but her father resists, and her own early attempts at making ramen turn out poorly.

With secret help from Keima and Erushia, Sumire eventually wins her father's approval to take over the restaurant. Grateful to Keima, she gives him ramen and kisses him, revealing her feelings for him.
