Character profile
Subaru Mimasaka
美作昴Biography
Subaru Mimasaka is a heavily built student introduced during the Autumn Election whose greatest weapon is exhaustive research. Rather than relying on a culinary specialty, he studies opponents closely enough to predict and copy their dishes, then attempts to improve them slightly. Outside matches he can be a gracious host, but during competition he deliberately mocks and tries to break his opponents.
Story spoilers
Subaru defeats Takumi by copying and improving his dish, but later loses to Souma when Souma improvises beyond what Subaru's research predicted. He remains at Tootsuki, later helps Souma during the Moon Banquet Festival, and eventually joins Erina's rebel team during the Regimental de Cuisine.
