During the Demon Raid, Inugami beheads Soushi in front of Ririchiyo. In the second arc, a 21-year-old Soushi living 23 years later has no memories of his past life beyond recurring images of a dark-haired girl, though records left by his previous self tell him about Ririchiyo. He falls in love with her but becomes jealous of his former self, whom she still loves. He ultimately helps Ririchiyo send a message into the past in hopes of preventing the earlier tragedy.
