Shinobu Wakamiya

Shinobu Wakamiya is the reigning Queen of competitive karuta and the youngest Queen in history. Left-handed and already a Class A player by fourth grade, she first falls in love with karuta after finding a box of cards at her grandmother's home.

She knows Arata well but has never defeated him in a karuta match. Despite being considered cute, her unusual fashion sense is described as extremely poor.
