Story spoilers
Farnese does not initially know that Serpico is her paternal half-brother. Despite years of mistreatment, including being forced to burn his mother at the stake, he remains deeply devoted to her. His hostile relationship with Guts eventually softens after a duel in Vritannis, and Serpico learns to trust Guts to protect Farnese. He later fights with a Sylph-blessed rapier that creates cutting gusts and a wind cloak that can deflect projectiles, aid jumps, and slow falls.
