Sayu Ogiwara is a runaway high school student from Hokkaido who reaches Tokyo and meets Yoshida. Living on her own for roughly half a year forces her to become shrewd and develop a playful, flirtatious mask that conceals her pain. She also uses aliases to hide her identity and develops unusual maturity and mental resilience for her age.

Sayu is a daughter of the prominent Ogiwara family of Asahikawa, and her older brother Issa is the CEO of a major food corporation. She develops romantic feelings for Yoshida but chooses to suppress them rather than interfere with his love life or strain their relationship.
