Sanosuke Harada
原田左之助Sano
Biography
Sanosuke Harada is one of the Shinsengumi's most cheerful members, often joking with Shinpachi and trying to keep others smiling even in difficult moments. Quick-tempered but loyal and friendly, he prefers the spear to the sword, serves Kondo as a personal adviser, and is also described as a fencing master. His close friendship with Shinpachi and Heisuke earns the trio a reputation for their rowdy humor.
Story spoilers
In the anime, Sanosuke survives the battle against Koudou's rasetsu army at Ueno after fighting beside Shiranui, but his fate afterward is left unknown. In the visual novel, he does not become a rasetsu and develops a friendship with Shiranui.
