Ryuk

Ryuk is a main character in Death Note and the Shinigami who drops the Death Note that Light Yagami finds in the human world. He acts largely out of boredom and treats Light's struggle as entertainment rather than a cause he personally supports. Ryuk is not Light's friend and regularly withholds useful information, helping only when doing so serves his own interests or promises amusement. He also has a particular fondness for apples.
