Biography

The original manga depicts him as an exceptionally violent martial artist and the son of Ichigan Nagare, while the television version recasts him as an apparently more easygoing football player.
Story spoilers
In the manga, Professor Saotome tests Ryouma by sending hitmen after him, then brings him to the research center. After a dinosaur attack kills Tatsuhito and other staff, Ryouma pilots the unfinished Getter Robo in Tatsuhito's place and continues as the Getter Team's leader.
