Biography
Ryoko Balta is a cultured member of the Daluma pirate guild, far less bloodthirsty than her reputation suggests. Well versed in customs from many worlds, she is also a shapeshifter who infiltrates Galaxy Police facilities for information. Her friendship with Kyo Komachi contrasts with her hostility toward Tarant Shank.
Story spoilers
One of Ryoko's favored disguises is Erma, a Galaxy Police clerk. In that role, Ryoko later moves in with Seina at Amane's home at the Academy. Ryoko is later revealed as the last heir of the Balta Guild and is released as Seina's subordinate. She joins the Kamidake II crew, fights beside Seina, and eventually marries him along with the other women in his crew.
