Story spoilers
Rulishia's ambition begins as a quest to avenge her father, who died in a Ryuto match when she was a child. She becomes Carmine's master and calls him Vermillion, but her first match leaves her horrified by the possibility of killing an opponent. She eventually gives up her hunt for revenge, though later she and Vermillion kill the black dragon responsible for her father's death after discovering it was a demon infiltrating the Ryuto. Vermillion then leaves with the other dragons to fight the Demon King, while Rulishia remains at the tower with Booster Dragon.
