Rin Kaga is a six-year-old girl who is remarkably independent and mature for her age. Living with Daikichi, she often handles problems on her own and develops a fondness for cooking for him.
Story spoilers
Later in the manga, Rin wrestles with her feelings when Kouki seeks a deeper relationship and comes to realize that she likes Daikichi. She also learns that Souichi was not her biological father and had only adopted her, after which she chooses to remain with Daikichi.
