Story spoilers
Reze is secretly the Bomb Devil hybrid, controlled by the Soviet Union and allied with the Gun Devil. Her mission is to take the Chainsaw Heart from Denji, but the feelings she develops for him complicate that objective. Although she can be manipulative and brutal, she prefers to avoid killing unless her mission requires it.
