Reika is adopted by Kisaragi Akabi at around age ten after a difficult childhood with her show-business mother. Kisaragi's music helps Reika through that period.
Story spoilers
After the adoption, Reika begins singing and quickly becomes a top star like her adoptive mother. When Kisaragi later starts an S-class to seek a new singing talent, Reika feels some jealousy.
