Biography
Rei is the successor of Nanto Suichouken and represents the “Star of Justice.” He first appears as a ruthless mercenary determined to kill the “man with seven scars,” whom he blames for abducting his sister Airi, and is hired alongside Kenshiro to defend Mamiya's village from the Fang Clan.
Story spoilers
After Airi is rescued, Rei becomes one of Kenshiro's closest allies. Raoh later strikes him with a technique that leaves only three days to live; Toki temporarily extends his life, allowing Rei to avenge Mamiya before dying. In the 1986 film, his death after challenging Raoh is much more immediate.
