Story spoilers
Rahzel's mother attempts to kill her on her ninth birthday, and Rahzel kills her during the attack. Her biological father abandons her. Kiara, not her foster father, finds her afterward and later places her in her foster father's care. Her birth name is Rahzenshia Rose, and her parents are Bobian and Liliya Rose. Her magical abilities appear unusually high: she can incant one spell while summoning another.
