Professor Saotome

Professor Saotome is the inventor of Getter Robo in most adaptations, originally designing the machine for deep-space exploration before becoming fascinated with the cosmic energy known as Getter Rays. He lives and works at the Saotome Research Institute with his children, Michiru and Tatsuhito, and commonly recruits Getter Robo pilots through severe tests of strength and will.

Getter Robo: Armageddon presents a major variation on the character, making Saotome the main antagonist with a far more openly unstable personality.
