Biography
Nadeshiko Kinomoto is Sakura Kinomoto's mother and worked as a professional model while still a high school student. She fell in love with Fujitaka, then her teacher, and maintained ties with her father and cousin Sonomi despite family disapproval of the relationship.
Story spoilers
Nadeshiko married Fujitaka when she was sixteen and died at 27, seven years before the series begins. Her love for her family continues after death: she appears as a winged spirit, initially visible only to Toya. The manga suggests Toya's ability to see spirits may have been inherited from her.
