Biography
Mystogan is a secretive S-Class mage who routinely puts everyone in the Fairy Tail guild to sleep when he visits because he hates being seen. He keeps his face hidden beneath a mask and cap, with Makarov the only person unaffected by his sleep magic.
Story spoilers
When Laxus burns away Mystogan's mask, his face is revealed to resemble Jellal's. Mystogan is actually the Edolas counterpart of Jellal and a renegade prince of Edolas. He was rescued as a baby by Pantherlilly.
