Biography
Montmorency is a young alchemist seeking the secret of the Philosopher's Stone and hoping to become a Ulysses, a supreme being capable of creating a worldwide utopia.
Story spoilers
After meeting Jeanne, he uses half of the stone to save her life and vows to protect her so her fate as France's holy savior can be fulfilled. Later, he is forced to swallow the other half to save Jeanne and becomes a Ulysses himself, gaining the ability to turn wind and air into an unbreakable shield.
