Mohammad Alai Jr is kind and highly determined, repeatedly getting back up after severe defeats. In combat he becomes arrogant and intensely serious, claiming to have perfected his martial art, but unlike many other fighters he is not prepared to accept the possibility of dying in a match.

After helping Kozue Matsumoto while she is crying, Alai Jr later falls in love with her, though she does not appear to share his romantic interest.
