Biography
Captain Mizuki is a maimed, dedicated soldier who wants to return to the battlefield to defend her country and volunteers for an experimental program.
Story spoilers
The program turns Mizuki into a cyborg weapon. When it becomes clear that she has reached the limit of her development, high school senior Chise is drafted and transformed into something even greater but more psychologically fragile. Mizuki's nature lets her hear Chise's thoughts, giving her insight into the toll of being a weapon that the commanders do not have.
