Mihoshi Akeno is Saku's cheerful childhood friend, one year older than him and prone to acting childishly. She inherited a deep love of the universe from her father and has always enjoyed stargazing and outdoor activities. Delighted to reunite with Saku, she persuades him to join the school astronomy club.
