Story spoilers
The figure leading the People's Army as Michel is actually Racine Blance, the real Michel's sister, who renounces her own identity and gives herself an X-shaped scar like her brother's. A brainwashed man resembling her brother later joins an attack on the glass battleship; she continues to believe he is her brother. When that man and Cleo are about to be sucked into space, she chooses to save Cleo and declares that the attacker is no brother of hers. At the end of the episode, the man is shown to be the real Michel, bearing the X-shaped scar on his back. In later episodes, Racine falls in love with Cleo Corbeille.
