Character profile
Meng Xiao
小孟Diaochan
Biography
Meng Xiao is a nanny to the Sima clan's children and an eunuch whose “lack of manhood” legitimates affiliation with the Crippled Legion. Responsible for logistics, Meng Xiao can defend a flank, act as a spy and support comrades with masterful archery. Meng Xiao is highly sensitive about the subject of gender and reacts violently when it is raised. During a mission to spy on Dong Zhuo, Meng Xiao adopts the name Diao Chan. Meng Xiao treasures comrades and harbors love for Liaoyuan Huo, who implicitly reciprocates it.

Lu Bu manipulates Meng Xiao into an attempt to assassinate Cao Cao under Pang Tong's scheme, and Meng Xiao and Liaoyuan Huo unwittingly help bring about the Sima clan's demise. After aiding Lu Bu against Cao Cao, Meng Xiao makes another attempt on Cao Cao's life. Sima Yi's betrayal causes the attempt to fail, and Meng Xiao is subjected to a brutal execution. A glimpse of Sima Yi's long-term scheme just before death allows Meng Xiao to rest in peace, while the death aggravates Liaoyuan Huo and widens the rift with Sima Yi.
