Menchi
メンチFrattaglia / Mince
Biography
Menchi is a small stray female dog whom Excel finds on the street and brings home as an "emergency food supply." Understandably terrified of both Excel and Hyatt, she spends much of her time trying to escape. Although she cannot speak aloud, Menchi understands human language, and her thoughts are sometimes shown as on-screen text.
Story spoilers
Later episodes explore Menchi's memories of a kindhearted former owner whom she hopes to find again. After that hope collapses, she reluctantly returns to Excel and Hyatt, though she continues trying to escape.
