Biography
Megumi Noda, usually called Nodame, begins as a free-spirited twenty-year-old second-year music student with exceptional talent at the piano. She primarily plays by ear in a cantabile style, lives chaotically, speaks in an eccentric way, and initially dreams of becoming a kindergarten teacher rather than a professional pianist.
Story spoilers
Realizing that her attitude toward music may drive her apart from Chiaki, Nodame develops the motivation to pursue music for her own sake. Her attitude was shaped by a hurtful experience with a teacher who insisted that she play as written.
