Medaka Kuroiwa

Medaka Kuroiwa is a monk-in-training who enrolls in a Tokyo public school to steel his heart against worldly desires. Usually stoic, he responds to Mona Kawai's attempts to charm him with a cold scowl, even though his private reactions can betray stronger feelings. His sheltered background also leaves him unusually excited by ordinary experiences such as school festivals and concerts.
